Pensaba que encontrar un reproductor multimedia tan bueno con el VLC era misión imposible, pero ha razón de la última versión de este y un comentario, descubro GomPlayer, una muy digna alternativa en entornos Windows.

GomPlayer viene al igual que VLC con los codecs integrados sin necesidad de terceros ni instalaciones a parte. Entre los codecs soportados están: GOM, AVI, DivX, ASF, ASX, WM, WMP, WMV, WVX, MPEG, MPG, DAT, VOB, MP4, 3GP, RM, OGM, MKV, IFO, DMB, OGG, AC3, XviD y H.263. La mayor diferencia en este aspecto con respecto al VLC, es que este soporta el formato MOV, pero por contra no soporta RM (Real Media). Otro detalle es que GomPlayer maneja mucho mejor el FLV (Flash Video).

De sus características se puede destacar que permite reproducir ficheros AVI corruptos, cuenta con un buen equalizador, tiene una buena colección de skins, permite la configuración de contraste, brillo y calidad de imagen.

Por último, decir que GomPlayer no tiene las opciones de grabación y de transmisión de VLC, sino que es estrictamente un reproductor multimedia. Respecto a las licencias, hay que tener en cuenta que mientras que VLC en gratuito y de código abierto, GomPlayer es simplemete Freeware.
